JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

Under the general and direct supervision of the Clinic Coordinator, provides radiology support for the clinic. Perform other diverse duties as requested or required.

Essential Functions

Computer Systems: GE Centricity Practice Solution EMR, Kryptiq Secure Messaging, Biscom Fax Service, Microsoft Office Suite, Solution Reach patient Communications. Avreo Interworks PACS System

Primary Duties: Direct and indirect patient care services that ensure the safety, comfort, and protection of patients, and supervision of clinical services for patients. The placement of intravenous (IV) lines as needed. The observation of signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior or general physical condition, the implementation of appropriate reporting or referral, and the initiation of emergency procedures. Direct and indirect patient care services necessary to implement a treatment as ordered by a physician. Correctly utilize radiology equipment to obtain x-rays, computed tomography, bone density, or other tests as directed by physician and within your scope of practice, training, and state license. Make copies of images on CD’s for patients. Assist with precertification of CT scans. Properly turn on/ shut down all radiology equipment daily. Appropriately call for maintenance after troubleshooting equipment per protocol.

Orders: Order all appropriate testing as guided by physician protocol or direct physician orders.

Test Results: Ensure all results and reports from either in-house testing or outside testing is in the chart prior to the physician seeing the patient or according to the physician’s request.

Procedures: Practice only within the guidelines as permitted by your license and state regulations. Assist physicians and other staff with all procedures as directed. Follow appropriate protocol to ensure the patient’s health and safety. Administer medications and appropriate care based upon physician orders within the scope of imaging studies

Discharge: After the outside order is complete or the physician has completed the examination of the patient and all orders are completed, deliver the appropriate instructions, handouts, and answer any questions the patient may have regarding their care per physician orders.

Phones: Utilize phone system properly, answer phones in a courteous manner, quickly identify caller’s needs, route calls appropriately, create complete flag and phone notes and route appropriately. Reply to all phone notes and flags in a timely manner. Respond to all patient questions and requests within physician protocol or under their specific direction.

Communication: Communicate with all staff, patients, and referring offices using phones, EMR flags and phone notes, and Kryptiq secure messaging and Company email; utilizing each method when appropriate. Follow up and seek resolution to complaints per policy and reports them to a supervisor and office manager. Report all incidents as per policy.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position offers both part-time and full-time positions.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Preferred Education and Experience

Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiology program required.

Experience

· No experience is necessary; however it is requested to have experience in the medical field.

· Prior experience with Digital Equipment is requested but not required.

· Pay is based upon experience level

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

· State License is required

· BLS and AED certification is required

· National certification is required.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)

Must be authorized to work in the United States.
