Primary Duties:
Direct and indirect patient care services that ensure the safety, comfort, and protection of patients. The observation of signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior or general physical condition, the implementation of appropriate reporting or referral, and the initiation of emergency procedures. Receiving and filling of prescriptions per physician order. Instructing patients in proper use of dispensed medications and potential risks.
Administrative Responsibilities
-Train new and existing employees
-Help lead and maintain a positive work environment
-Maintain current inventory list of medications in stock
-Order medications weekly based upon clinical need
-Reconcile all insurance payments
-Oversee receiving of medications
-Assist staff in dealing with difficult patients
-Troubleshoot issues and direct to the appropriate staff
-Oversee financial transactions in the dispensary
-Prepare daily deposit slip
-Assist and oversee daily tasks in dispensary
-Ensure procedures and processes are followed appropriately
-Counseling for dispensary employees as necessary
-Assist other supervisors with staff counseling
-Assist Corporate to maintain the Department Guide
-Scheduling for Dispensary Staff
-Help Corporate office to develop new workflows
-Implement new workflows that pertain to the Department and Company
-Directs efforts at staff retention issues and minimizes employee turnover
-Provides leadership and direction in accordance with organizational and departmental goals and objectives
-Ensures staff knowledge and participation in emergency procedures, fire safety, evacuation plan and disaster drills
-Ensures knowledge of department/personal role
-Ensures staff knowledge and participation in emergency procedures, fire safety, evacuation plan and disaster drills
-Ensures knowledge of department/personal role
-Ensures staff knowledge of Standard Precautions and Exposure Control Plan
-Responds to, provides direction to and supports staff during changing work loads and emergency/crises situations
-Ensures that Compliance Laws and Regulations are followed
-Communicates job expectations and employee responsibilities to staff
-Communicates departmental and staff needs to office manager
-Manages department operations within the boundaries set by the Company
-Manages and follows department budget as set by Company
-Completes orientation program and skills checklist for all new employees prior to their assignment of duties
-Responsible for departmental personnel matters
-Establishes and achieves high standards of performance
-Coordinates department personnel resources to meet patient load
-Maintains professional competence through attendance at various training courses, seminars, professional meetings
-Establishes education programs for department staff
-Maintains a reference library for the department |
